Sharjah Art Foundation announces an open call for research papers to present during a workshop organised for the University of Cambridge Gulf Research Meeting in July 2012. Titled “Visual Culture in the GCC”, the workshop will focus on the diverse manifestations of visual culture in the Gulf during the post-oil era. Among the suggested themes are: Visual rhetoric and identity; Modernity and tradition; Current trends in the production and consumption of visual culture.

For those interested, please submit a paper proposal (of approx. 500-1000 words in English) and complete the online form by January 6, 2012.
