Samer Omran specialized in mime art and worked in scenography and choreography while studying for his PHD in Theatre Studies in Krakow (Poland) in 1995. Since then he has translated,  adapted, acted in and directed several theatrical works of Polish playwrights such as Vitol'd Gombrovich and Sawomir Mrozek whose 1974 play The Emigrants was presented at Past of the Coming Days. This play and others have been directed and performed by Omran across the Arab World including the Spring Festival, Beirut (2010) and the Fourteenth Damascus International Festival of Theatre (2008).

Samer Omran was born in 1964 in Lattakia and he currently teaches theatre at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus.
