Biography

Matt Saunders merges photography, painting and rotoscope animation to create uniquely processed and multilayered works that evoke cinematic iconography and celluloid history. His most recent solo shows were at the Renaissance Society (2010) and the Harris Lieberman Gallery, New York (2010). He has participated in numerous group exhibitions including at the Museum of Art, University of Michigan (2009), MoMA, San Francisco (2008) and the Deutsche Guggenheim, Berlin (2008). Saunders was the recipient of a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation grant in 2009. He lives and works in Berlin.
