Laurence Weiner

Lawrence Weiner was born in 1942 in the Bronx, New York. He attended the New York Public School System and spent the late fifties and early sixties travelling throughout North America (USA, Mexico, and Canada). The first presentation of his work was in Mill Valley, California in 1960 and he participates in public and private projects and exhibitions in both the new and old worlds. Lawrence Weiner divides his time between his studio in New York City and his boat in Amsterdam.

For the 9th Sharjah Biennial Weiner created a site-specific work on the facade of the Sharjah Art Museum titled More La More Di More Da and So On (2009).
