Overview

Sharjah Art Foundation presents Grammy Award-winning musician and Senegalese icon Youssou N’ Dour, debuting The Salam Project as part of the Sharjah Biennial 15 Music Programme.

Collaborating with Senegalese Sufi singers, N’Dour has created a new performance that speaks to the theme of our shared humanity.

Described by Rolling Stone magazine as “undoubtedly one of the most beloved artists in the entire continent of Africa”, N’Dour’s distinctive voice has been hailed by The New York Times as “sweet, lithe and resolute”. N’Dour has released more than 20 albums.

Both an artist and goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, N’Dour has long been a voice for conscience and change.

The Sharjah Biennial 15 Music Programme has been made possible with the generous support of Bank of Sharjah and Sharjah Government Media Bureau.
