Biography

In previous works, the artist has incorporated looped fibres, nets and structures built from natural materials such as leather, metals, grasses and rope manipulated by her own hand to explore the movement of line through space and define volumetric representations of infinite possibilities.
Selected solo exhibitions of her work include Pérez Art Museum Miami, USA (2014); Kunsthalle Basel, Switzerland (2013); Kunsthalle Lissabon, Lisbon, Portugal (2013); National Museum of Modern Art, Paris (2013) and Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof, Hamburg, Germany (2012).
Leonor Antunes’ work has been shown in group exhibitions including Göteborgs Konsthall, Göteborg, Sweden (2014); Berlin Biennale (2014); Bronx Museum of the Arts, New York (2014); MIT List Visual Arts Center, Cambridge, USA (2012); Singapore Biennale (2011) and Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, Oporto, Portugal (2002).
