Biography

Reem Falaknaz is a photographer and filmmaker. Her work explores the UAE’s cultural make-up and the transient nature of its residents.

Falaknaz was a fellow with FIND ‘Forming Intersections and Dialogues’, New York University Abu Dhabi, 2013. She took part in The Arab Documentary Photography Program that was funded by the Arab Fund for Art and Culture, Prince Claus Fund and Magnum Foundation. 

Selected solo and group exhibitions of her work include The Place of Perpetual Undulation, Gulf Photo Plus, Dubai (2016); Haraka Baraka, Maraya Art Center, Sharjah (2016); Return of the Soul, Prince Claus Fund, Amsterdam (2015); Memory for Forgetfulness, ATHR, Jeddah (2015); View From Inside, Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (2015) and Untold Stories, Emirates Fine Art Society’s 32nd Annual Exhibition, Sharjah (2014).
