Biography

Lara Favaretto has worked with a range of media throughout her career including performance, sculpture, installation and video. Also included was an earlier work, Solo Se Sei Il Mago (Only if you are a Magician) (2006), a cube of white confetti that slowly collapsed through the course of the exhibition.

Favaretto has exhibited widely including solo presentations at Tramway, Glasgow (2009), Frieze Projects, London (2007), Castello di Rivoli, Turin, Italy (2005) and group presentations including the Venice Biennale (2009), the Sharjah Biennial (2009), the Turin Triennial (2008), and the Sydney Biennial (2008).

In 2008 she was Artist-in-residence at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston, the Hayward Gallery, London and the Proa Foundation in Buenos Aires. She has received numerous awards including the Querini Stampalia Prize for Young Italian Artists (2001), a scholarship for Studio Program, PS1, New York(2002-03) and a scholarship for the Castello di Rivoli, Torino (2004).
