Animator and Videographer

Reporting to: Design and Multimedia Manager

This role requires a skilled Animator and Videographer to join the Design and Multimedia team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys telling stories through both animation and video, and is comfortable working across different formats, platforms, and tools.

While the role has a strong focus on animation and motion graphics, it also involves hands-on shooting, editing, and producing video content. The role is primarily focused on animation and motion graphics, creating engaging animated content to support branding, marketing, and digital communications across multiple platforms, including social media, digital screens, and exhibition-based formats. At the same time, the position requires hands-on involvement in videography, including shooting, editing, and producing video content across a wide range of outputs. The position supports exhibitions, programmes, communications, and digital platforms, and requires a collaborative, flexible team player who is happy to work across disciplines.
 

Roles and Responsibilities

Animation & Motion Graphics


•    Create 2D and/or motion graphics animations for digital platforms, social media, websites, and marketing campaigns (a variety of outputs, including outdoor and LED screens, social media platforms, exhibitions, branding elements, logo animations, GIFs, and digital campaigns) 
•    Develop storyboards, style frames, and animation concepts based on creative briefs
•    Animate typography, graphic elements, and illustrations
•    Collaborate with designers, creative directors, and content teams to ensure visual consistency
•    Refine animations based on feedback and creative direction
•    Export and deliver animations in required formats and resolutions
•    Maintain organized project files and adhere to production timelines
•    Stay up to date with animation trends, tools, and techniques
•    Develop short animated sequences, transitions, and visual treatments to support video and digital content
•    Apply animation to typography and graphic elements using basic design and layout principles, ensuring clarity, hierarchy, and readability


 

Videography & Shooting

 

•    Manage all aspects of video production, including pre-production, production, and post-production
•    Execute video shoots in collaboration with the team including interviews, exhibitions, performances, talks, workshops, archiving, and promotional content
•    Operate video, audio, and lighting equipment, ensuring strong framing, sound quality, and lighting conditions
•    Work on-site and on location, sometimes across multiple venues or setups
•    Ensure all equipment required for shoots is prepared, functional, and properly handled
•    Video archive documentation of all SAF events (Exhibition openings, Talks, Performances, Rehearsals, Interviews, workshops …etc)

 

Video Editing & Post-Production

 

•    Edit video content from raw footage to final delivery, including long-form interviews, short-form social media content, trailers, and documentation
•    Perform post-production tasks such as logging, rough cuts, audio adjustment, color correction, subtitles, and final exports using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
•    Apply basic motion graphics and animated elements within video edits where required
•    Export and deliver videos in multiple formats suitable for different platforms


 

Archiving & Documentation

 

•    Properly archive raw footage, project files, and final videos following the Foundation’s naming conventions and server structure
•    Upload, organize, and label files clearly to ensure accessibility for the wider team
•    Support the documentation of exhibitions, events, performances, and artworks through video
•    Coordinate with the team to ensure backups and documentation are complete and accurate

Required Experience, Qualifications and Skills

•    Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Film, Video Production, or a related field
•    3+ years of professional experience in animation and video production
•    Strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro
•    Practical experience with cameras, lighting, and audio equipment
•    Solid understanding of animation for digital, social, and large-format screens
•    Basic design skills, particularly in typography layout and visual hierarchy
•    Comfort working in fast paced, production-heavy environments
•    Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
•    Clear communicator and reliable collaborator

•    High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
•    Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
 

Conditions of Work

The role is a full-time position based in Sharjah, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, and occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
