Job title: Graphic Designer 

Reporting to: Design and Multimedia Manager

Job location:  Sharjah Emirate, United Arab Emirates (On-site)

Expected starting date: as soon as possible

Rules and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and execution of visual materials across print and digital formats, including brochures, books, social media assets, reports, event branding, campaign visuals, and exhibition graphics.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh ideas.
  • Understand project requirements and contribute original ideas and creative concepts for campaigns and events, with a focus on cultural and artistic relevance.
  • Create drafts of design assets such as publications, visual identities, and marketing campaigns for review and refinement.
  • Support the team in all stages of the design process—from ideation and development to final production.
  • Take on specific tasks to support multiple projects, including image resizing, retouching, color correction, and layout adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the curatorial, marketing, and editorial teams to finalize design elements and ensure timely delivery of assets for exhibitions and events.
  • Use feedback from supervisors to revise and improve design outcomes.
  • Maintain consistent application of SAF’s visual identity and branding guidelines across all deliverables.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Department on campaign adaptations, banner production, and communication materials for various SAF programmes.
  • Follow up on paused or pending projects to ensure continuity and resolution.
  • Assist with preparing files for print production, including paper selection, quality checks, and technical specifications.
  • Liaise with printers to oversee production timelines, print quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Review final designs with the Creative Manager or senior team members to ensure accuracy before publishing or printing.
  • Stay up to date on current design trends and cultural developments relevant to the Foundation's programming.
  • Support in preparing print files, including paper choice, paper quality, and final production setup.
  • Photo-edit images for catalogues, press, and the SAF website.
  • Coordinate with printers to track production and delivery status.
  • Organize and archive design files and assets.
  • Being able to design in Arabic is a plus.

Required Qualification, Experience & Skills:

  • BSc/BA in Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in a creative or graphic design role.
  • Understanding of visual elements including layout, typography, and color.
  • Familiarity with design techniques, standards, and terminology.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Illustration skills, as well as experience in motion graphics and animation, are preferred.
  • Ability to manage and submit tasks on time.
  • Strong team player with openness to feedback and a drive for improvement.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and maintain consistency across projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivation to uphold and elevate design standards.
  • Ability to see projects through from concept to final production.

Conditions of Work

The role is a full-time position based in Sharjah, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, and occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
