What if light could become a tool for documenting moments and memories?
Discover the cyanotype process, one of the earliest photographic printing methods. Prepared surfaces are exposed to sunlight to register shadows and details as deep Prussian blue images or ‘blueprints’.
Learn the fundamentals of the process. Experiment with layering photographic elements through the controlled use of light, texture and visual language. Draw inspiration from surrounding markets and historic urban formations, incorporating photographs, drawings and found materials into the cyanotypes to document place and moment.
Offering hands-on practice to both photography enthusiasts and emerging artists, this workshop combines tactile engagement with contemporary techniques to produce prints of both aesthetic and documentary value.
This sessions is free, and all materials are provided by Sharjah Art Foundation.
