What does it mean to be part of a landscape? Join artist Jumana Emil Abboud in exploring our relationship with our immediate surroundings, using mirrors, gestures and collective actions.
We will first take a bus from the Photography Gallery to Sharjah’s Central Souq, where we will observe and engage with the surrounding environment. When we return to the gallery, we will build on insights from the souq to question what it might mean to find, or abandon, the true heart of a place. This workshop encourages repeated acts of looking as a means of revealing the shifting boundaries between the body and the land, the familiar and the unfamiliar.
Designed for creatives at all levels, this session is free, and materials are provided.
Sharjah Art Foundation is committed to making its programmes inclusive and accessible. You can arrange for any support you need through the registration form.
