Dialogue
Marigold Quimoy Balquen (The Voice of Domestic Workers); Georgina Velasco (The Voice of Domestic Workers)
Moderator: Amal Khalaf (Director, Cubitt, and Curator at Large, Serpentine, both London, and Sharjah Biennial 16: to carry co-curator)

Marigold Balquen and Georgina Valesco, members of The Voice of Domestic Workers—a self-organised support group seeking justice for Britain’s migrant workers—share their individual journeys as domestic workers and activists. The Voice of Domestic Workers has engaged artists, arts organisations and art workers as collaborators on dozens of projects and campaigns, ranging from moving image works, animations and photography exhibitions to choreographed and theatrical performances. Balquen and Valesco tell Amal Khalaf how these projects highlight strategies of art production and distribution to inform and support social movements related to labour and visibility.
