Join us for the closing tour of The Khartoum School: The Making of the Modern Art Movement in Sudan (1945 – present), Kamala Ibrahim Ishag: Women in Crystal Cubes and Amir Nour: Brevity is the Soul of Wit: A Retrospective (1956-Present) exhibitions, on Saturday, 14 January 2017 at 5:00 pm, SAF Art Spaces.
Following the reception, a special talk called When Identity Becomes Form: Calligraphic Abstraction and Sudanese Modernism, will be given by co-curator Dr Salah M. Hassan, who will also be leading the closing tour for all three exhibitions.
The Khartoum School: The Making of the Modern Art Movement in Sudan (1945 – present) is a major historical survey of the modernist art movement in Sudan, from the mid-20th century to the present.
Kamala Ibrahim Ishag: Women in Crystal Cubes is solo exhibition that presents works by Kamala Ibrahim Ishag - one of the most influential artists and pioneering modernist painters in Sudan.
Amir Nour: Brevity is the Soul of Wit: A Retrospective (1956-Present) retrospective exhibition covers the fifty-year career span of the American-based Sudanese artist Amir Nour.
