The six-decade art practice of Vivan Sundaram (1943–2023) is marked by disjunctures, the title selected for his survey show at Haus der Kunst invited by Okwui Enwezor and curated by Deepak Ananth in 2018. Sundaram worked with contextual responsibility and radical contradiction, exploring shifts of medium, different ‘languages’, historical acuity and memory archives.
