Aleksandra Waliszewska

Aleksandra Waliszewska has exhibited at numerous institutions, including the Center for Contemporary Art, Ujazdowski Castle, Warsaw (2012), Arts: Le Havre – Biennale d’Art Contemporain, Le Havre, France (2010) and the Zachęta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw (2006), among others. In 2012, the film director Athina Rachel Tsangari produced a film inspired by her work titled The Capsule, in which Waliszewska was the co-scriptwriter and played a supporting role. Her paintings have been used as cover art for a number of record albums and has been featured in several publications. In 2013, she was awarded the AECA prize for best foreign artist at ARCO Art Fair, Madrid. Waliszewska studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Warsaw and has been the recipient of numerous scholarships awarded by the Polish Ministry of Culture. Waliszewska lives and works in Warsaw.
