Growing up in Amman, Mona Saudi developed an affinity for various types and forms of stone, nurtured and influenced by the historic neighbourhood in which she resided. In her works, explorations of the notion of motherhood intertwine with her deep passion for natural materials and modern forms. Birth of Venus (1983) explores the biological, fertile possibilities of the human body through distinctive compositional movements and geometric shapes.
