Mother and Child

Mother and Child

Throughout her career, Mona Saudi delved into the history of Palestine and its metaphors. Often reflecting on its allegory with motherhood, the symbolism attributed to these concerns are evident in her first sculptural works, which were produced after she moved to Paris in 1965. The notable work Mother and Child (1981) primarily focuses on her exploration of motherhood and demonstrates her aesthetic development in the selection of stone colours and types.
