Huguette Caland’s later works are more intricately constructed ‘landscapes’ that often resemble the surface of textiles. While the interior lines and forms of Rossinante Diptych (2011) are evocative of some of her drawings from the late 1960s and 1970, the dots, fashion ‘stitch-like’ marks, evoke terrains akin to the Palestinian embroideries that Caland first encountered in the late 1960s.
