Adam Khalil and Bayley Sweitzer with Oba

Adam Khalil is a filmmaker, artist and Ojibway tribal member who is the co-founder of COUSINS collective, an Indigenous-led film non-profit, as well as a core member of the interdisciplinary ‘public secret society’ New Red Order. His work amplifies Indigenous artist voices and challenges the encroachments of settler colonialism. Bayley Sweitzer is a filmmaker and frequent collaborator with Khalil and New Red Order. Sweitzer’s lens-based practice employs the formal conventions of traditional narrative filmmaking to advance radical political futures. Oba is a multidisciplinary artist, musician and actor who starred in Khalil and Sweitzer’s film Empty Metal (2018), a sci-fi thriller that foregrounds anti colonial politics and Indigenous histories.
