How can lines, tonal variation and surface textures shape a visual language grounded in a strong understanding of form?
Embark on your journey into drawing by exploring different types of lines and their expressive qualities. Examine the relationship between form and the surrounding space, and discover how primary masses organise a composition and define its visual structure.
Applying what you have learned, create still life studies of three-dimensional objects in graphite, charcoal and ink. Explore key principles of Gestalt theory in art and visual perception, including proximity, similarity, continuity and closure. Refine your visual sensitivity and deepen your understanding of form and composition through structured exercises in tonal gradation, contrast and hatching.
The fee is 300 AED, and all materials are provided.
Sharjah Art Foundation is committed to making its programmes inclusive and accessible. You can arrange for any support needed through the registration form.
