Ceramic Artistry: Handmade Tiles

Create handmade tiles combining craftsmanship, imagination and precision. Explore a range of artistic and architectural applications.

Start with plaster moulds. Draw decorative patterns on the moulds, and then carve the designs carefully to define details.

Press the prepared clay firmly into the plaster mould to shape the tile according to the carved design. You will need to monitor the partial drying stage and remove the tile with care to preserve the form.

Complete the process with final drying and kiln firing to produce durable ceramic tiles. Experiment with colouring and glazing, either before or after firing, to introduce a distinctive aesthetic character.

The fee is 100 AED, and all materials are provided.
