Collective Echoes: A Typographic Dialogue

With Ranim Al Halaky
Ages 17+
In English and Arabic

Typography is not only a tool of communication—it is a visual voice, a memory, a shadow of place.

Explore the narrative and emotional potential of typography through a collective, process-led approach. Working in rotation, contribute to shared posters and compositions, layering gestures and interventions that respond to both language and form. You will begin from a shared text and personal reflections and move through a series of tactile, experimental steps—tracing, erasing, distorting, stamping, folding and image-making—while responding to the marks left by others.

During this process, collaboration, trust and openness are emphasised, allowing each piece to unfold through dialogue and interaction. Language becomes a site of memory and movement, shaped by the hands and stories of many.

By the end of the workshop, you will have created a series of collective visuals (posters or fold-out zines) that map layered typographic landscapes—revealing how stories can emerge not from a single voice but from the spaces between many.

This session is free, and all materials are provided.
