Cultivating Community: The Farm as a Collective Tool

With Sharjah Architecture Triennial (SAT)

Ages 15+

In English

How can an urban bio farm function as a site for collective, artistic and cultural engagement? Find out at Al Manakh Bio Farm in Al Qasimiyah School during an introductory talk and guided tour of the space. Approach the farm as a shared medium: a living context shaped by people, plants and relationships.

Rather than focusing on agricultural production as an outcome, Al Manakh Bio Farm centres on community-building and shared stewardship. Explore how the farm adapts and transforms through the contributions of different communities, and discover how learning and creative practice shape the space.

The Foundation is committed to making its programmes inclusive and accessible. You can arrange for any support needed through the registration form.

About SAT

Sharjah Architecture Triennial (SAT) is a non-profit cultural organisation that explores how architecture and cities relate to social and environmental life. Based at Al Qasimiyah School in Sharjah, SAT invites neighbours and visitors to take part in free and open activities, including workshops, exhibitions, talks, tours and film screenings.

Al Manakh Bio Farm

Located within the Al Qasimiyah School compound, Al Manakh Bio Farm is a space for neighbours to learn how to grow food sustainably, care for the land and reconnect with nature. The farm grows fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers using natural, chemical-free methods, composting, and water-saving irrigation.
