Delve into the evolving relationship between hand and material as you craft ceramic art.
Create a series of clay pieces using hand-building techniques such as coiling, slab building, pinching, carving and piercing. Explore interactions between mass and void while paying close attention to the balance between surface, line and form. Observe how clay transforms as it dries and how firing naturally reveals its textures and forms.
By the end of the workshop, you will have produced a collection of unique ceramic works that reflect experimentation and free-form making as an artistic language. These pieces will be ready for exhibition or future development.
The fee is 200 AED, and all materials are provided.
Sharjah Art Foundation is committed to making its programmes inclusive and accessible. You can arrange for any support needed through the registration form.
