Explore the notion of portrait photography using only your smartphone. Join Vantage Point 13 artist Luisa Dörr as she introduces different ways of approaching portraiture today, through observation, collaboration and visual storytelling.
During a series of hands-on guided exercises, experiment with perspective, composition, framing, light and colour while making portraits in and around the Photography Gallery. Move beyond quick snapshots to considering how gesture, environment and the relationship between photographer and subject can shape a compelling image.
At the end of the workshop, select, edit and discuss your photographs in a collective image review. Reflect on ways that sequencing and editing can strengthen a visual narrative.
Designed for photographers, artists and creatives at all levels, this session is free and materials are provided.
