Omar Gatlato follows a young man living in a cramped multigenerational apartment in Bab el-Oued, shortly after the Algerian independence. Omar aimlessly goes about his days, entertaining himself with Indian cinema and live music after work. However, when he discovers a cassette tape featuring a woman's voice, he becomes instantly infatuated and desperately arranges a meeting.
