With Hesa M. Aldahel
Ages 15+
In Arabic and English
Reconnect with ancestral knowledge and healing traditions through herbal remedies and poetry.
Reflect on the cultural memory of longstanding healing practices, while sharing personal or familial remedies and oral traditions related to herbs, healing and care. Learn about the local medicinal practices of the early twentieth century that have been passed down from generation to generation.
Building on these discussions, blend your own herbal mixtures using ingredients such as cumin, cinnamon, saffron, frankincense and gum Arabic, and create verses grounded in scent, memory and storytelling through a guided writing exercise.
This session is free, and all materials are provided.
Sharjah Art Foundation is committed to making its programmes inclusive and accessible. You can arrange for any support needed through the registration form.
