Redefine ceramic wall art as a space for artistic expression.
Begin by wedging and preparing the clay to achieve a consistent working material. After planning your work, explore hand-building techniques such as slab building, pinching and coiling, combining them to construct layered ceramic wall pieces with depth and complexity.
As the clay reaches a leather-hard state, develop the surface through carving, incising, scraping, adding and piercing to reveal fine details and create rich tactile layers. Explore the rhythm of the surface through contrasts between smooth and textured areas, allowing the marks left by tools to move between spontaneity and precision.
Complete your work through drying and firing, paying close attention to structural integrity and craftsmanship.
The fee is 200 AED, and all materials are provided.
Sharjah Art Foundation is committed to making its programmes inclusive and accessible. You can arrange for any support needed through the registration form.
