Surfaces of the City: Collaging Urban Textures

With Shamin Sharum
Ages 15+
In English

Follow in the footsteps of Leda Catunda, whose works echo the textures of urban life, and reimagine the surfaces of Sharjah in a collage.

During a walk through SAF neighbourhood, photograph details of shopfronts, signage, construction tarps, tiles, walls and doors. Layer or paint these visual textures onto fabric collages, adding coloured cut-outs, and translate your vision of the surfaces into unique ‘urban skins’. By merging observation, collage and painting, you will discover how the city can become both subject and material for creative practice.

This session is free, and all materials are provided.
