The Basics: Raw Clay to Ceramic Art

Ages 17+

In Arabic and English

How can raw clay be transformed into a work of artistry and imagination?

Begin your creative journey by learning the fundamentals of ceramics, from properly preparing the clay to handling it with confidence and control. Explore hand-building techniques such as pinching, hollowing, coiling and slab construction. Use supporting tools and the electric wheel to produce both free-form and geometric shapes, including bowls, vases and decorative boxes.

Move on to the stages of drying, glazing and firing, and discover how varied colours and finishes can transform your work into ceramic pieces that balance aesthetics and function.

Embrace experimentation, and immerse yourself in a reflective process that develops both artistic sensitivity and technical skill.

The fee is 300 AED, and all materials are provided.
