How can the movements of the human body be captured and depicted in a sketch? How can direct observation be translated into expressive art?
Study the body’s internal rhythm, changing poses, shifting centre of gravity and flow of energy within continuous movement. Then record the form and shifting postures using charcoal, soft and oil pastels, and ink. Balance momentum with control, and combine spontaneity with precision.
Learn how to vary line and shading, giving each movement its own presence through both fluid and broken marks. Reflect on fleeting motion, and emphasise the essence of the pose over anatomical detail.
The fee is 100 AED, and all materials are provided.
Sharjah Art Foundation is committed to making its programmes inclusive and accessible. You can arrange for any support needed through the registration form.
