The Time That Remains is a semi-autobiographical drama told in four episodes, spanning from 1948 to the present day. Filmmaker Elia Suleiman draws on his father’s private diaries and letters written by his mother to family members displaced from Palestine. Combining intimate memories with a portrayal of daily life, the film narrates the experiences of Palestinians who remained in what later became Israel and were labelled 'Israeli-Arabs'.
