Move beyond traditional theatrical formats as you investigate different modes of expression in this hands-on workshop. Work with body, voice, text, objects, sound, space or other visual elements to discover how each medium can shift meaning. Through group exercises in improvisation and collaborative experimentation, experience performance as a space for thinking, questioning and making.
The workshop encourages you to shift between artistic forms rather than work within a single discipline. A thought might turn into a gesture, a conversation might become a spatial arrangement, or an image might develop into live action. Groups will have the opportunity to test their ideas, reshape them through experimentation and work towards a collective presentation.
At the end of the session, share your work with other groups. Then reflect on the creative process and the different approaches to contemporary art and performance.
No previous experience in performance is required. The session is free of charge, and materials will be provided.
