Can architecture be reduced to the buildings you see in countless social media posts or the photorealistic renderings generated to sell projects? Or do we actually experience buildings in different ways?
Move beyond simple images of buildings to examine how the fundamental elements of architecture and the application of design principles impact how we perceive, interact with, use and ascribe meaning to buildings. Through analyses of buildings within and outside the Gulf region, gain insight into how architecture successfully (and unsuccessfully) responds to context, culture and climate. Make connections between historical developments, theoretical frameworks and direct sensory experience.
