Shape urban scenes into relief prints rich in texture and graphic contrast. Practise carving techniques, including hatching, with materials such as linoleum and wood, and work with collagraph processes.
Construct printing plates by combining diverse materials into layered surfaces, or carve directly into prepared substrates. Experiment with inking and pressure to produce works with varied tonal and tactile qualities.
During the course, you will learn to balance mass and void in multifaceted compositions, harnessing the power of light and shadow. You will also deepen your understanding of contemporary art and move from direct representation towards abstract interpretations of the urban environment.
The fee is 300 AED, and all materials are provided.
Sharjah Art Foundation is committed to making its programmes inclusive and accessible. You can arrange for any support needed through the registration form.
