How do cities leave a mark on us? Take a guided walk through Sharjah’s heritage area, and absorb the textures, materials and subtle details that reveal traces of the city’s history and everyday life. Observe historic walls, architectural features, natural elements and marks left by time and weather, and consider how these surfaces reflect the changing landscape around them. Using a field kit, capture selected textures as printed impressions in a personal field journal. Record their locations and physical details, and note any observations or reflections. Build a personal archive of the places and moments that resonate with you, and discover how everyday surfaces can become records of place and time.
This workshop is free, and all materials are provided.
Sharjah Art Foundation is committed to making its programmes inclusive and accessible. You can arrange for any support you need through the registration form.
