‘work.txt’ (2019) by Nathan Ellis

This is a show about work.

But the worker isn’t here, so it’s down to you.

You’ll clock in at the beginning.

You’ll work in a team, and under your own initiative.

You will be your own boss. You will be free.

This is a play about a person in an unnamed city who has stopped working. The viewers must work together to figure out why. Performed entirely by the audience, work.txt—a sell-out show staged in nine countries in 11 languages—puts the spotlight on urban, contemporary work culture.
