Biography

Hanna Atallah is a feature and documentary filmmaker, producer and cultural art manager. He founded Filmlab Palestine (2014) in Ramallah to empower Palestinian youth in refugee camps in Jordan through film literacy and talent programme. The non-profit organisation aspires to put Palestine on the map of the global cinema industry by providing technical and artistic support to emerging Palestinian filmmakers.

Atallah is also the founder and director of Palestine Cinema Days, one of the leading international film festivals in Palestine that focuses on cinema culture and has become a venue for arthouse films in the region.

He holds a bachelor's degree in film studies from the High Institute of Cinema at the Egyptian Academy of Arts (2001).

Born in 1976 in Jerusalem, Atallah currently lives and works between Berlin and Jerusalem

The ten-day event—which includes a range of regional and international films, talks by filmmakers and industry professionals, musical concerts and mixers—is centred around Mirage City Cinema (MCC), the open-air theatre in Sharjah’s historical quarter.
