Biography

Kais Zaied is the co-founder of CinéMadart, an arthouse cinema based in Carthage and the co-founder of Hakka Distribution, a company specialising in the distribution of independent cinema. He is also a founding member of Association Echos Cinématograpghiques, disseminating film culture in schools and alternative environments.

He has directed four short films, Conversation (2006), L'Âge de verre (2006), Oxymore (2007) and Talik (2016).

He was the director of the European Film Days (2013) and was also a member of the organising committee of Carthage Film Festival (2010 and 2014).

He was born in 1984 in Tunis, where he continues to live and work.

The ten-day event—which includes a range of regional and international films, talks by filmmakers and industry professionals, musical concerts and mixers—is centred around Mirage City Cinema (MCC), the open-air theatre in Sharjah’s historical quarter.
