Overview
Film enthusiasts are invited to join this meet-up to discover, share and critique each other’s film interests and build a network of peers in Sharjah. This meet-up will cover a range of topics related to the Sharjah Film Platform, including renowned director Youssef Chahine’s work, the emergence of Arab indie films, the representation of social issues and identity in short films, and the challenges of being an emerging filmmaker in the region. This gathering will offer an excellent opportunity for both hobbyists and professionals in the field to exchange tips and tricks of the trade, receive feedback about their processes and meet new talent in a relaxed environment.
About the instructor
Faisal Salah Al Zaabi is a social media journalist at The National, covering UAE news as well as entertainment and gaming news for the newspaper. A lifelong fan, Al Zaabi loves watching, discussing and collecting films.
