Biography

From Bandung to Berlin (FBB) is an open, collaborative and amorphous platform that aims to dis/connect the historical spatio-temporal coordinates between the first Afro-Asian conference in Bandung in 1955 and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. The online platform http://frombandungtoberlin.com has so far collaborated with Amanda Lee Koe, Chang Yuchen, Muhammad Al-Fayyadl, Renan La-ruan and Tan Zi Hao.


From Bandung to Berlin: A Social Fiction was launched as part of the 89plus x Google Cultural Institute collaboration at Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, Paris (2014). The project has been presented in exhibitions, including the traveling show South by Southeast at Osage Art Foundation, Hong Kong (2015) and Guangdong Times Museum (2016). From Bandung to Berlin was also realised as an exhibition and a discursive programme titled From Bandung to Berlin: If all of the moons aligned at SAVVY Contemporary, Berlin (2016).

FBB was initiated by Brigitta Isabella in 2014. Isabella is also a member of KUNCI Cultural Studies Center and a co-editor of Southeast of Now.
