Farhad Asadi

Trained initially as a tonbak player within the classical Iranian musical tradition, Farhad Asadi has since expanded his practice to encompass a range of genres including folk, jazz and reggae. Asadi performs and records both as a solo musician and as a member of the Kamakan Music Band. He has collaborated with numerous artists and ensembles in Iran and the region, contributing to studio recordings, live performances and sound-based projects. His work moves between traditional percussion practice and contemporary approaches to rhythm and sound.
