Klara Kofen is an artist, dramaturg, writer and researcher. Since 2015, she has been artistic director of Waste Paper Opera, a live performance collective. Her recent works include fake & extinct (2025, Centrale Fies Live Works Fellowship and TBA21–Academy’s Terrafilia programme, Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid); Admiror, or Revolutionary Sentiments (2023–2025, commissioned by the Guggenheim Museum, New York, and BEK, Bergen); and Dead Cat Bounce (2022–2024, Somerset House, Nottingham Contemporary, Arts Catalyst and Eastside Projects). Her writing has appeared in Catastrophe Time! (Strange Attractor/MIT Press), Cabinet Magazine and Onomatopee. She has taught at Goldsmiths, University of London, and presented talks at ARIA, Ljubljana, and University of the Arts London. In 2024–2025, she was a Quirk Creative Fellow at the UCL Institute of Advanced Studies and SCCI. Kofen holds degrees in history from the University of Glasgow and University of Oxford.
