Raafat Majzoub

Architect, artist and writer Raafat Majzoub is the director of the Institute for Worldmaking, which develops experimental infrastructures for research, publishing, education and AI-compatible knowledge production in and from the Arab world. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Architecture Series at Dongola, and co-founder of The Khan Association and The Outpost magazine. Majzoub has taught at the American University of Beirut and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Art, Culture and Technology programme, where he remains a Research Affiliate. His practice spans fiction, performance, publishing and institutional experimentation. His work has been exhibited internationally, including Sharjah Biennial 16 and Home Works Forum 9. He is a co-editor of Design to Live (MIT Press, 2021); What Are Borders? (American University of Beirut, 2021); and Beyond Ruins (ArchiTangle, 2024), and has contributed to publications, such as AA Files, Park Books and Kayfa-ta, among others, as well as presented talks and papers worldwide.
