Saleem Albeik

Palestinian French writer, film critic and cinema researcher Saleem Albeik is based in Paris. His literary work includes the novels Two Tickets to Saffuriyah (Al Saqi, 2017), Scenario (Al Ahlia, 2019) and The Cock’s Eye (Hachette/Antoine-Nofel, 2022). He is also the author of Reflections on Palestinian Film (Arab Institute for Research and Publishing, 2023). His most recent book, Biography of Palestinian Cinema: Limitations of Spaces and Characters, was published by the Institute for Palestine Studies, Beirut (2025). Alongside his writing, Albeik works independently as a film programmer, consultant and reader for festivals and cultural institutions. He has served as a jury member at the Carthage Film Festival and as a FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) jury member at Berlin Film Festival (Official Competition) (2026). He also participates as a voter in major international film polls and awards, including the Golden Globes and the Sight & Sound poll of the greatest films of all time.
