Palestinian agroecologist, educator and researcher Yara Dowani is the co-founder and core member of Om Sleiman Farm (established 2018), an initiative grounded in agroecological practice, land-based knowledge and collective care. Her work approaches farming as a social and political practice shaped by questions of land, ecology and community autonomy. Dowani is also part of the SuperMelon initiative and works as an editor and producer for the Foraging Fireflies festival and publication. In 2024, she received the CLIMAVORE x Jameel at the Royal College of Art Food Action Award for her research on syntropic farming as a pathway to regenerating land with limited resources. Her public talks and workshops address food sovereignty and its centrality to liberation.
