Create a mixed-media portrait of an animal with your little ones. Decide on an animal and its personality. Is it happy, sad, friendly or shy? Consider how Inaam Zafar presented the personality and feelings of the swans in his work Mourners (2026), and then develop your portrait. Experiment with different poses, and reveal important characteristics of the animal through drawing and layers of colourful, textured or reflective materials.
